Completed Discord Model by Uncommented Completed Discord Model by Uncommented
He's done!

I've finished rigging and UV-mapping Discord. The full figure is now textured with a basic color scheme sampled from screenshots of the show. At this point, I consider the model to be complete (although I'm open to suggestions for improvements).

Download the model here.

The model is intended to be used, modified, and redistributed freely for non-commercial applications; for all intents and purposes it is released under copyleft.

You will need Blender to open the rigged version, which should currently be in this pose. The obj version is in a T pose. Fine-tuned facial animation is left to the end-user.

Also, would anyone mind working with me to create a gmod/SFM-compatible version? I'm not terribly familiar with Valve's file formats, but I'd be cool as hell to see Discord running around in TF2.

My Little Pony: FIM is owned by Hasbro.

I have a strong feeling the model im working on (eris fluttercord) with parts from a decompiled SFM discord has the tail originally in this model. If so, I definitely want to link back to you as part of the credits. I'm impressed and inspired by your works. (i think her legs and horn also come from here)

You are correct! The SFM discord that's been floating around is a port of the one I made in Blender. On that note, you might want to check out the .blend if you want any of the components in their less-subdivided forms.

is the less subdivided version better to have? if so why? can a subdivided part be reduced to less subdivided? (sorry for many questions but i still have lots I want to learn. )

It isn't better per-se, but working with the less subdivided version is easier if you want to make changes without having to deal with as many individual vertices (you can always apply a subdivision modifier and pick the level of detail for any given render/export). Blender has a modifier (decimate) for reducing subdivision, but it doesn't always work very well.

Odd, perhaps I missed something but I am not seeing the .obj file, I was considering taking parts to improve a preexisting Human Discord model made for the MMD program.

Correct; I'm just offering the Blender file atm. Download Blender and export the OBJ yourself for run and profit.
